2024 Week of Welcome – Ice Cream Social!

2024 Week of Welcome – Levitating Superconductors

To welcome in this year’s incoming students, SPS hosted a levitating superconductors event, showing off the Meissner effect in a sensational demonstration. Event tickets overfilled, and around 75 students came to witness a gravity-defying demo and learn about quantum mechanics!

2024 Gala on Olympus Formal

To celebrate the start of a new year, SPS hosted its annual waffle party! Nothing brings the physics department together more than the festivities of food. By noon, lines were stretching out the door for chocolate chip waffles- we’ll need to buy more ingredients next time.
